MI Women's Equality Day
Join us for the 2016 Mercer Island Women's Equality Day!
The celebration will take place Thursday, August 25, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, in Mercerdale Park. Stop by to hear guest speakers, and enjoy delectable sweet and savory food trucks, as well as music by Mercer Island's own local band, Exapsos.
On August 26, 1920, the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution extended the vote to women - a major victory for women's rights and gender equality. On the anniversary of the 19th Amendment, Women's Equality Day, we celebrate the progress that has been made toward securing women's full participation in our democracy and renew our commitment to securing equal rights, freedoms, and opportunities for all women.

On August 1, Deputy Mayor Debbie Bertlin declared August 25 Mercer Island Women's Equality Day, in honor of National Women's Equality Day, on August 26! To view the proclamation, click here

Share in this wonderful opportunity for young women, families and students, encouraging growth and the empowerment of affecting change.
