Fourth grade students Zoie Durham and Nathan Bordeaux did an amazing job representing Mercer at Tuesday’s Board of Education meeting. They provided the audience with insight on the instruction and activities that make Mercer great through interviews with teachers, staff and students. A special thank you to Library Technician Mrs. Stephanie Stamm who helped to prepare them for the presentation.
This week a number of current and former Mercer parents shared the kind words that were posted on the Living in Shaker Facebook page. These were great testaments that speak to the collaboration and hard work that has taken place over the years from teachers and parents to make Mercer a wonderful learning environment. Thank you!
I am always enthusiastic about Mercer Elementary where I have been Principal for the past 15 years. When I give tours to new and prospective families, the great pride that I have in our students, teachers and staff is clearly evident. Our first annual Mercer Pride Week will take place from February 25 through March 1 as part of our 4th Grade Service Corps’ project. There will be a variety of activities planned including story reading by Service Corps’ members, a parade through the school halls and more. Look for more details next week.
Remember that there is no school on Friday, February 15 for Conference Day or Monday, February 18 for President’s Day.
