Dear Mercy Alumnae and Friends,

As you all already know too well, Mercy High School has closed our physical doors for the time being. Our amazing Mercy faculty and staff are hard at work and have rolled out a state of the art E-LEARNING program that has enabled our students to learn and social connections to continue. We continue to provide an exemplary Mercy education and our young women are fulfilling graduation requirements and growing academically, spiritually, and culturally.

This year Mercy is faced with yet another major challenge because all activities, including fundraisers, are currently at a halt. As a result, the annual Sweepstakes Drive, which we use to directly pay expenses and enhance programs that tuition alone does not cover, has been modified. This event raises 20% of our unrestricted fundraising goal for the year. These funds provide needed support to keep Mercy High School excellent and affordable for all.

I personally ask you to support Mercy in any way you can with our new endeavor, the Mercy Community Drive to achieve the goal of $175,000 that we depend on each year. Our virtual fundraiser is socially distant and civically responsible. It is also very efficient - we accomplish extraordinary results with very little financial investment in the effort. This means that Mercy’s “return” on your donor “investment” has a better “yield” than any other fundraising effort that we could deploy at this time. We need everyone’s help.

How true are the words in our vision statement:
Our cherished community is sustained and advanced by the active support of all members and friends.

With the current unprecedented situation, there will not be tickets to sell. Instead, we are humbly asking for your donations . Your contributions will be acknowledged as a donation, since no goods or services will be received, and will therefore be tax exempt per the current laws. These challenging times remind us how much it means to be a part of the Mercy family. Your support during this Mercy Community Drive means so much to us, now more than ever.

  • Donate online - To make a secure contribution via credit card online, please click here. There will be a section to credit a particular student or staff.

  • Donate via the phone - Please call 248-893-3535 and leave a message for Gina DeAgostino Gray ’91. She will call you back within 48 hours and will be able to process your donation via credit card over the phone.

  • Donate by mail - If you choose this option, please send your check made payable to Mercy High School to 29300 W. Eleven Mile Road, Farmington Hills, MI 48336. Please be sure to note “Mercy Community Drive” in the memo line and note if you would like a particular student or staff to receive credit for your donation.

In closing, may I express my gratitude again. I am reminded of the words of our founder, Catherine McAuley who said,  “A community in which universal charity reigns, is capable of surmounting all difficulties.” I believe we can accomplish the Mercy Community Drive goal together and keep Mercy strong to serve young women into the future. The world needs women of Mercy today more than ever!

THANK YOU in advance for your support, and may the Lord hold you close. I pray that each of you and those you love remain safe and healthy.
