| | Special AOD Honor for Staff Member Mary Vallone | | |
Congratulations to Mary Vallone, Mercy HS Administrative Assistant to the Principal, on receiving the 2026 Department of Catholic Schools Sylvia A. Kolaz Administrative Assistant of the Year Award from the AOD!
"Mary is the kind of person who makes a school better simply by being there. She serves because she cares. She cares about the students, the faculty and staff, and about Mercy as a whole. Much of Mary's work happens behind the scenes, but it matters. She helps solve problems, supports the people around her, and keeps things moving when there are a hundred other things happening at the same time."

Diploma Name Survey Due November 6
Seniors are to complete the Diploma Name Survey that was emailed on October 19, to ensure their name appears as they and their parents would like it printed on their official high school diploma. There is also a space in the survey for students to record themselves speaking their name as it should be pronounced when they walk across the stage. They can do this using the recording option on their iPads. Students should be sure to speak slowly and clearly and play it back before submitting to ensure that the recording quality is acceptable. The deadline for completing this is Friday, November 6.
Colleges Waiving Application Fees
Please check out the graphic below from the Michigan College Access Network or see here with list of Michigan colleges with no application fees and colleges waiving application fees. Seniors are asked to see their Counselors if they have any issues.
