Mercy staff members Holly Markiecki-Bennetts and Dr. Alison Kline-Kator '97 along with seven students traveled to the Rio Grande Valley in Texas to work with Arise Adelante. Arise was founded by Sister of Mercy Gerrie Naughton over 30 years ago to help support the women and children of South Texas. Students worked alongside the staff of Arise MUÑIZ to provide activities for the youth in the summer program. Mercy students were able to interact with three other Mercy schools at the other centers and got to know several Sisters of Mercy during their time in Texas.
Spain Trip
| | |
In early June, a group of Mercy Spanish students along with Spanish teacher Mrs. Julia Cilona, traveled to the South of Spain exploring Granada, Seville, and the Costa del Sol area. In addition to an immersive linguistic experience, they toured beautiful landmarks, and participated in cultural activities. They capped it off with a day trip to Tangier, Morocco where they had an experience of a lifetime riding camels, exploring markets and trying Moroccan cuisine.

Khloe Duneske '27 Theological Institute
| |
Student Ministry Team leader Khloe Duneske ’27 took part in Marian University's Missionary Disciples Institute (MDI) last month—a transformative, weeklong experience centered on dynamic prayer, community building, small group formation, and theological reflection.
Designed to empower young leaders to discover how God is calling them to serve as missionary disciples in their own communities, MDI was a meaningful step in Khloe’s journey of faith and leadership. We celebrate Khloe’s commitment and are inspired by her example!

| | 2025-26 CELL PHONE POLICY | | |
This is a reminder of the 6/27/25 communication here in regard to strengthening student focus and wellbeing with the 2025-26 updated Off & Away Throughout the School Day cell phone policy.
With the revised policy, students are required to keep their cell phones turned off and stored in their backpacks throughout the school day (8:00 AM - 2:40 PM) across the entire campus. This includes class time, unscheduled hours, permanent off-hours, hallways, and all common areas such as the Cafeteria, McAuley Academic Center, and Gym/Auditorium Lobby. Read more here.
This policy marks a meaningful shift in daily student life, and we commit to supporting our students through the adjustment. Together, we will help students find healthy, engaging alternatives that make it easier to step away from their phones and be more present with one another throughout the day.
Our goal is to create the most supportive and focused learning environment possible for your daughter. Thank you for partnering with us in this important effort!
