A Message from Pastor Rachel Metheny

Dear Meridian,

Many years ago, I had the opportunity to meet with a group of graduating seniors from the Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. I wanted to hear their thoughts on the stories of blindness in the Bible. I came prepared with a list of questions and began with this one: “How does the seeing world treat you?” They quickly corrected me: “No, no—it’s not the seeing world, it’s the sighted world.”

I paused and clearly look confused. Then one of them added, “Just because you have sight doesn’t mean you can see.”

Mic drop.

That truth has stuck with me ever since: Just because we have sight doesn’t mean we truly see.

In the gospel story for this Sunday, that’s exactly what Jesus is trying to tell the religious leaders: You may have sight—but you still can’t see.

As we move through our own lives, how much are we really aware of? What are we noticing—or failing to notice? Who are we seeing—and who are we not seeing? The truth is, we’re missing a lot more than we realize.

I’m excited to dig deeper into this with you on Sunday. Hope to see you there!

'Tis the Season for Candy Donations

Looking for something "extra" to offer during Lent? Why not try donating candy and plastic eggs to our Breakfast with the Bunny celebration on Saturday, April 19th. A collection station is set up in the Welcome Center where you can drop off candy and plastic eggs. Volunteers will take it from there, prepping candy-filled eggs for the egg hunt that morning.

Can you hide eggs? Run a simple game? Help with a craft? Then you're exactly who we're looking for! Breakfast with the Bunny is a cherished annual outreach event. This year, it's on the morning of Saturday, April 19th. There are many ways to help (before, during, and after the event). Click the button below for more info.

Make Plans Now to Order Your Easter Flowers!

These beautiful blooms are available for a "free will donation." Envelopes will be included in the bulletin this weekend.

Orders can also be placed on the church website through the giving portal. Please mark orders as "Easter flowers" in the dropdown and put your dedication (In honor/memory of...) in the memo line.

Thank You, Jen!

Staff Parish was notified by Jennifer Kitzmiller, the Administrative Assistant, that she would be resigning from her position at the end of March because of family responsibilities. Lisa Lorentz, the Engagement Coordinator, will assume the additional responsibilities and become a full-time employee. We want to thank Jennifer for her time with us and wish her well!
