Inspiring the Next Generation: Celebrating Women in Construction Week

ABC NESD staff member, Sheila Radenslaben, visited Mrs. Calver’s 1st-grade class with her son, Dawson, a former student of Mrs. Calver. She read a book, shared fun props, and even brought donuts, all while delivering an important message—you can be anything you put your mind to!

As a member of NAWIC (National Association of Women in Construction), Sheila helped introduce young students to the world of construction, reinforcing the importance of diversity in the industry.

LPS Science Fair Sparks STEM Excitement!

We recently participated in the LPS Science Fair at the Sandhill Event Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. Sixth-grade students showcased their model cars and projects, raced their creations, and explored STEM careers.

At our ABC booth, students got hands-on experience with electrical work by building an outlet. We demonstrated how proper setup allows an outlet to function and used our virtual wiring kit to illustrate how a house’s lighting system is powered.

A special shoutout to Alan Kriegler, who volunteered his time to set up our virtual welding system, giving students (and even some of us!) the opportunity to see welding in action. Events like this continue to inspire the next generation of skilled workers, and we are proud to be part of it!
