STEP Safety and Health Management System

Safety That Deserves the Spotlight.

ABC’s STEP Health and Safety Management System provides contractors and suppliers with a robust, no-cost framework for measuring safety data and benchmarking with peers in the industry.

The self-assessment tool helps participants identify real opportunities for scalable growth in their health and safety programs to lower their total recordable incident rates. Learn About STEP Recognition.

Upcoming ABC National Events and Webinars

Construction Backlog Indicator Falls, Contractor Optimism Stable

"The dip in backlog observed in August is not surprising given ongoing declines in nonresidential construction spending," said ABC Chief Economist Anirban Basu. "While backlog in the heavy industry and infrastructure categories has held up well, commercial and institutional backlog has not. With private sector projects struggling with rising materials costs, policy uncertainty and reemerging labor shortages, that category may remain weak over the next few quarters."
