Support The Restoration Of The Franklinville School
The Wissahickon Valley Historical Society is raising funds to help preserve the historic Franklinville School.
Built in 1858, the Franklinville School is on the National Register of Historic Places. The building is temporarily closed because it is unsound. The Wissahickon Valley Historical Society (WVHS) recently received a $20,000 grant from the state Department of Community and Economic Development to perform repairs.
“Without this grant and individual contributions, the Franklinville School would continue to deteriorate," said Marie Goldkamp, WVHS Board Member and former President of the Historical Society of Whitpain. "We certainly appreciate both the grant and the community’s donations to save this historic building.”
