Featured Resource: Tide Gauge

In collaboration with the Gulf of Maine Research Institute, UMM's GIS Lab & Service Center, have installed an electronic tide gauge at the town landing in Machias. This is an important step in their effort to assess and adapt to climate change vulnerabilities in the downtown area. The project is funded by the National Science Foundation, and through partnerships with the Silver Jackets project and the Machias Resilience Committee. They will be developing signage and outreach materials on sea level rise and climate change in public places around the waterfront.

Here's the link to a website where you can see data from the gauge: https://dashboard.hohonu.io/map-page/3b403eb1-70c7-4633-beec-9bb2e4c21811/Machias,ME-Radar. There are actually two sensors installed, and both appear on the map if you zoom in close. In the next week or two, the data from both sensors will start to appear on the graph together.
