Next Chapter of Merritt & Associates History
Begins as New Ownership Takes Over
Chris Downs, DVM, DACVS and Randy Bimes, DVM join
Dana Marsh, DVM, CVA as new owners of
Merritt & Associates Equine Hospital
With the retirement of Dr. Keith Merritt earlier this summer, the ownership of Merritt & Associates Equine Hospital (MAEH) has transitioned to three experienced and skilled veterinarians.  Dr. Dana Marsh, an owner of the practice since 2013, welcomes Dr. Chris Downs and Dr. Randy Bimes as they join the ownership team.

Dr. Chris Downs joined MAEH in 2005 as an associate and has contributed greatly to the growth of the practice as its board certified surgeon since 2009.  Dr. Randy Bimes is a new face to the MAEH team, but he has been a respected equine veterinarian for over 25 years.  A native of southern Illinois and graduate of University of Illinois, Dr. Bimes manages and practices at a mixed animal hospital near Philadelphia, PA.

As Dr. Marsh and Dr. Downs take on new responsibilities at Merritt & Associates, their commitment to their patients will not change.  Both will continue to provide the highest level of care to patients at the clinic and on the road.  With Dr. Kyle Clark, an associate veterinarian at MAEH since 2015, they are dedicated to preventing, diagnosing, and treating injuries and illnesses in sport and pleasure horses.  Additionally, the staff at Merritt & Associates is committed to providing the equine community of northern Illinois, southern Wisconsin, and surrounding areas with cutting edge emergency and critical care services available 24 hours a day.

Thank You to Our Loyal Clients
At Merritt & Associates, our number one priority is to improve and maintain the health of our patients so they can perform to the best of their ability and live a longer and more productive life.  That priority has not changed since the clinic opened over 20 years ago and it will stay the same under our new ownership.

As we look towards the future and strive to build on our strong foundation, we encourage you to provide feedback on our services and performance.  Please let us know what additional services we can provide that would best meet the needs of your horse.   Your valuable feedback can be emailed to
[email protected]  or you can always call us at 847-526-9550.  As always, thank you for the trust you have showed us to care for your horses.  It truly is a pleasure to serve you and your equine companions.
