Hello All & Happy Bliss!

As 2016 comes to a close, preparations are under way for the 37th Annual Blissfest Folk & Roots Music Festival scheduled for July 7 - 9, 2017. W e cannot wait to see  YOU  enjoying a very merry Blissfest in just a few short months! We can't thank you enough for all of  your continued and ongoing support of the Blissfest Music Organization for this and every one of the last 36 Blissful Years! It takes a community to make this magic. You Are Blissfest - You Make Blissfest Happen! Thank You! As we look ahead to 2017 here are a few changes that we wanted to update you about for this upcoming festival.

In an effort to improve your festival experience and streamline the entry process , we will now be selling wristbands instead of tickets. You can purchase your wristband(s) online or over the phone at  231-348-7047  beginning in January  2017. You will receive a confirmation email as a receipt at the time of your purchase. The actual wristband(s) will be mailed to you in June 2017.
Please wait to affix your wristband until you are on route to the festival. You will arrive at the festival pre-registered and ready to be scanned-in at the gate. As part of this change, wristbands will be available online or through the office ONLY and will not be available at our former festival ticket outlets. We appreciate their many years of service in this endeavor and bid them all a fond farewell.

We are limit ed to selling 4500 patron wristbands for the annual festival as part of our land use agreement with Emmet County. In the last few years, we have reached this maximum capacity and are expecting another sellout in 2017. Wristbands will not be available at the gate, so please plan ahead. If you are planning on attending the 2017 festival, we strongly suggest that you to make your purchase early before there are no more wristbands available. A limited number of day tickets will be available for Saturday OR Sunday only. There will be no Friday day wristbands available.
Membership dues help us to continue our mission to preserve traditions and promote innovators of American and world roots music. Our members enjoy perks including: discount s on festival tickets, concerts and special events; discounts on Blissfest Recreation Center guest house, cabin and campsite rentals; and voting privileges for the annual board of director's election. Your support allows Blissfest to continue to thrive. Membership dues are scheduled to increase in 2017 to meet with our rising costs of throwing a successful festival and doing business year - round. We will honor our current  pricing  until the close of 2016, with limited Lifetime Memberships available.
So start planning your trip to Northern Michigan now! Organize your Blissfest peeps and camping plans. Who are you driving with? Who are you camping with?  Camping is included with your weekend festival wristband and is available on a first - come , first - served basis , both in the cam pground and woods camping.  Remember, Blissfest creates a temporary campground in compliance with the State of Michigan requirements. We have about 600 first come-first serve 25' x 50' drive-in campsites available. There are state rules and limitations so check out our web site for additional campsite protocols, setbacks and limitations. Practice Blissfest Camping etiquette. Respect and be considerate of your neighbor! Help us to conserve space and share so we all fit comfortably. We also have walk-in woods camping where folks get tight and cozy in their tents and hammocks.  Recreational vehicles are welcome but it can be a challenge getting them to fit especially when we start to fill up on Friday and folks attempt to bring in large RVs. Just saying, small is beautiful at Blissfest. We may not be able to guarantee you a place to camp if you have a super-sized RV larger than 24 feet due to limited ability to maneuver.
We also will continue our current reserved campsites program. In this program, MEMBERS who had reserved a numbered site last year will have the opportunity to re-reserve that campsite beginning Mon. January 2nd until Weds. March 15th at 8pm EST. Staff are available Tues-Thurs 12-8pm or just leave a message anytime. For those members who have not reserved a specific campsite in the past and want to, you can call us to get on our waiting list. The first 100 member calls will get in a Lottery and any remaining reservable sites will be drawn for on March 21. This means there will be only a chance for members who want to participate to get a reserved site since we have a set number of reservable sites to work with. Remember we still have 600 unreserved sites available first come first serve.

We are excited for another Blissful year with you all!
