The Joy of Trusting

Greetings!

Waiting. Trusting. Waiting some more. While we were seeing family in the USA and Canada, we applied for visas to teach in the Russian Federation - and we waited. The Russian Embassy in Washington is not eager to process visas for religious workers.

We rescheduled flights and waited some more. We trusted God that we would make the conference where we had been invited to speak. We put our suitcases in the car. Our daughter came home from work to drive us to the airport. Three hours before our flight the FedEx driver arrived with our passports and visas - and we were still 45 minutes from the airport. We jumped in the car and just made our flight. We left Atlanta on Friday. We arrived in Stockholm on Saturday. We took the necessary Covid test on Sunday. We got the results on Monday. We flew to Russia on Tuesday. The conference began on Wednesday.

Sometimes when we walk by faith all we can do is take the next step and trust that God will open the door at the right moment. There is such joy in trusting God in those steps. When you know He has everything in control, there is peace. "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests."

We thoroughly enjoyed our three month stateside assignment this fall, but saying "Goodbye" is always hard.

In Russia, we taught five seminar sessions on church planting at "Multiply: the St. Petersburg Conference on Mission and Evangelism". Jim also spoke twice in the main sessions. There were over 500 leaders in attendance plus over 5000 on live stream. This is our third time in Russia and we expect several more trips in 2022. In the lower left is Peter Mitskevich, President of the Union of Russian Evangelicals-Baptists.

In early December we traveled to Berlin to participate in the gathering of M4 Europe leaders. M4 trains church planting lead teams in 15 European nations. M4 = Master, Mission, Multiplication, Movement. Here we are with Øivind Augland from Kristiansand, Norway - the founder and CEO of M4 Europe and director of Exponential Europe. We are Strategic Consultants for M4 Europe.

In our ministry with the Swedish organization, Mission International, God has blessed our social media outreach beyond our wildest expectations. In the 18 months since the salvation prayer was posted on the Junia Magazine Facebook page - over 6,100 women have said "Amen" to Jesus! Would you pray for these new believers in almost 50 nations!

Josef and Isabelle Arnfjell - pastors we mentor - are doing an amazing job leading SOS Church Västerås, in a university city about an hour outbound from Stockholm. Recently they had a gospel choir concert where Isabelle was awarded certificates in Music Instruction and Choir Directing.

Travel is beginning again. Our friend, Paul Lindberg, with AgapeSweden (CRU) visited us in Stockholm. Like many of you, Paul and his team in Minnesota pray for us regularly. Your prayers are what carry us forward - and we thank you so much!
