Dear HPN,
We can’t believe that it’s already December, the month of new birth, celebration, gathering family and thanking God for all He’s done for us through JESUS! We hope you are planning great family celebrations, and as you do would you pray for the professionals in the entertainment industry who come from broken families and don’t have anywhere to go this Christmas! We want the Lord to touch people in new, powerful ways this season and your prayers will make a difference!

Dave Butts - Goodbye to our dear Friend!
We want to honor our faithful friend and HPN member, supporter and fellow visionary Dave Butts, a pastor and the President of the National Prayer Committee, who passed away on Nov. 26th after bravely battling cancer. Dave walked with HPN for years, bringing prayer leaders to Hollywood, challenging them to pray for us, and even praying on TV & film sets for the cast and crews during filming. He was an incredible and loving encouragement to all of us at HPN and we will miss him deeply. Please pray for his amazing wife Kim, who is grieving the loss of her best friend. We praise God that Dave is now fully healed and whole in heaven!

We have prayed for Assistants in Hollywood in the past and now it’s gotten so bad that they have started a movement to stop the abuse, called #PayUpHollywood.
Entertainment industry assistants are too often overworked, underpaid, taken advantage of and fired on a dime by employers who are demanding, unreasonable and needing Jesus! Would you pray for the assistants, whether they are Christians or not, and ask the Lord to show them their worth, value and love in YOU! And would you pray for the employers and ask the Lord to melt their hearts so that they desire to treat EVERYONE as if they were treasured family or friends!

However - we have a special treat: We edited last year’s concert and want to share it with all of you so that you can GO TO THE CONCERT AGAIN THIS YEAR! Let's praise God for the boldness of Dolly Parton, along with her humor and great talent!

Kirstie Alley Passes at 71
We want to pray for the family and friends of Kirstie Alley who died on Monday from colon cancer. Though an accomplished actress in both film and television, Kirstie was a life-long devoted member of the Church of Scientology, and had obtained the highest level as a Scientologist. In the wake of her tragic death, we want to pray for her family to find truth and comfort in Jesus, the only true healer!

Blessing the Entertainment Industry!
Please pray blessings over the Christians who work in the global entertainment industry!
We discovered this powerful verse in I Corinthians 4:9-13 in The Message Version, which clearly represents how most of the believers in the global entertainment industry feel about how their family members, friends and churches respond to their commitment and pursuit of Arts and Entertainment!.
As you read this, would you pray for the “Paul’s” in our industry who have been judged and condemned for their work in Hollywood. Like Paul, they need love and support from the Church and from Christian family members, and friends, in order to fulfill the calling that God gave them!
“It seems to me that God has put us who bear his Message on stage in a theater in which no one wants to buy a ticket. We’re something everyone stands around and stares at, like an accident in the street. We’re the Messiah’s misfits. You might be sure of yourselves, but we live in the midst of frailties and uncertainties. You might be well-thought-of by others, but we’re mostly kicked around. Much of the time we don’t have enough to eat, we wear patches and threadbare clothes, we get doors slammed in our faces, and we pick up odd jobs anywhere we can to eke out a living. When they call us names, we say, “God bless you.” When they spread rumors about us, we put in a good word for them. We’re treated like garbage, the leftovers that nobody wants. And it’s not getting any better.” I Corinthians 4:9-13

Bob Iger Returns to Disney After Bob Chapek Ousted
The biggest news of late in our industry is that Bob Iger, who ran Disney for years and stepped down and allow his choice Bob Chapek to run the mega studio, just stepped back into the helm after the Walt Disney Company Board of Directors fired Bob Chapek. Let’s pray for this move, for the Disney employees and all the decisions coming that could help or hinder thousands of employees! We know that God is in control of this unexpected shake up!

The Movies are Coming Back!
Since the launching of Cable, then Pay Per View, then Streaming platforms, people have questioned the future of feature films and whether people will go back to the movie theatre. Well, the good news is that American audiences want to go to the movies and experience stories on the big screen with other people. We at HPN believe that God has us here for one reason - Relationships! First with Him and then with other people. So, going to a movie theatre fills that instinctive need to connect with other people. Would you pray that in our digital world, we will continue to go out, be with others, build relationships and seek beauty, truth and community through Arts & Entertainment.

See this season's heartwarming (and glittery!) musical re-telling of The Christmas Carol, with Ryan Reynolds and Will Farrell leading Spirited! Besides being a song and dance spectacular, the story behind this movie is, at it's core, WHY WE PRAY for Hollywood: There are ripple effects that change the world when the heart of one person is transformed! As you read the article, let's all be praying for the cast and crew of this movie, and that everyone who watches the film will be reminded why even ONE salvation in Hollywood is so eternally significant!
