Saint Theresa Catholic School

Alumni & Friends Newsletter
It's Been a Busy Year!
We had a wonderful start to the school year in August, and the year is flying by! We were thrilled to welcome over 450 students this year, and we continue to receive record-level numbers of applications and interest in our school. It is always special to welcome “Legacy” students – children of our alumni – and this year we have 8 legacy families. We are blessed with a growing community! We now have two full-time counselors (elementary and middle school), and were excited to add a new play area out back that includes two full-sized basketball courts.

Over the past few months our students have enjoyed participating in some beloved St. Theresa traditions, including the Living Rosary & food drive; Fall Fest; the Veterans Day program hosted by our 5th grade; and – just last week – our beautiful Christmas Pageant. We also have a few new traditions: our middle school Art Elective created a fall craft with the parish Young at Heart Club, the choir performed for the parish Festival of Trees, and our 8th grade had a special Retreat Day led by Fr. Schultz and students from St. Paul VI Catholic High School. We have much to be grateful for, and are blessed!

Please stay tuned – we plan to schedule an alumni and alumni family reunion late this spring. We look forward to welcoming you back to STCS!
Blessing of our New Play Area
In November we had a blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open our new play area! Our students are excited to have a place for games and basketball during recess and P.E., and we are happy to have them out of the middle school parking lot -- in a safer location! Thanks to the kindness and generosity of so many current and alumni parents, our students are already enjoying this wonderful new addition to our campus!
We Are Grateful!
Check out this important video message from our students! Can you make a year-end gift to help us reach our goal of $55,000? This year's Thunder Appeal - Our Mission Matters supports our students and our mission and will help us continue to grow. We hope you received Mrs. O'Malley's letter to you in November. Click here to donate now or send a check to the school office (note "Thunder Appeal" in the memo line). Please know that every gift counts, and we appreciate your support!

We are so grateful to our alumni families and friends who support STCS! Your generosity in last year's Thunder Appeal was so appreciated and helped make it a success. Please click here to see our Gratitude Report.
Alumni Spotlight
It was wonderful to have a visit from STCS '11 alumna Dr. Angela Bozik last month! Dr. Bozik graduated from Belmont University with a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy and has written a children’s book about therapy dogs, "Healthcare Heroes: How Therapy Dogs Change Lives." She stopped in to St. Theresa to donate a copy of her book to our library, and we hope to schedule a "Meet the Author" event with our students in the next few months. Angela was interviewed for the TV program "Today in Nashville" last month on station WSMV4, click here to watch the interview.
Career Week -- Can You Join Us?
Willing to share your career with our students or help with mock interviews with our 8th graders? We will celebrate Career Week at the end of March, with our traditional Career Day on Thursday, March 23. The following day, Friday, March 24, at 8:45 a.m. we'll be conducting practice job interviews with our 8th grade students. We were thrilled to have several alumni and alumni parents as the "interviewers" at last year's event. Please mark your calendars to join us for a morning (or two!) of fun and learning for our students! Contact Regina Freschi, [email protected] for details.
Save the Date -- Annual PTO Auction
What's more fun than our biggest event of the year, the Annual STCS PTO Auction? Get your derby hats dusted off and ready! This year's Annual Auction, "Hold Your Horses, a Derby Experience," will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023 at River Creek Country Club. Why not gather some friends and join us for a fun evening to support our school community?
Another Record-Breaking FOSTS Tournament!
The 12th Annual Friends of St. Theresa School (FOSTS) Golf Tournament for Tuition Assistance was a tremendous success! FOSTS was formed in 2006 by St. Theresa School parents to assist families experiencing financial hardship. Over the years, FOSTS has awarded over $375,000 to 258 students. This year's event sold out of golf slots and was another record-breaker! We were thrilled to welcome back several alumni and alumni parents who golfed, sponsored, and volunteered -- thank you all! Click here to see our Tournament Sponsors; we are very grateful for their support. Please join us next year on Monday, October 2, 2023!
