Thank You For Your Support
STARS , Arrhythmia Alliance and AF Association
would sincerely like to thank all our supporters for helping us
raise awareness through information and education to those who
need it most. We would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas
and a HeartSafe New Year.

In 2020, we will continue to work hard to ensure everyone who is diagnosed with
an irregular heart rhythm receives the support and care that they need.
Your assistance in this effort is greatly appreciated.

Many people now donate to charity rather than sending Christmas cards to their loved ones. Not only does it help us as a charity, but it is also good for the environment! If you would like to do this, please select your chosen charity to donate today.
AF Association Global AF Aware Week 2019
Thank you for supporting this year’s
AF Association Global AF Aware Week!
We have been overwhelmed by all the awareness events that have taken place around the world.

Atrial fibrillation affects approximately 1.5 million people in the UK alone with a further 500,000 people going undetected.

GAFAW 2019 saw worldwide participation with awareness events being conducted as far as Hong Kong, New Zealand and Canada. AF Association Global AF Aware Week 2019 was a great success and made huge strides in working toward the DETECTION of Atrial Fibrillation (AF).

When you vote today, please speak to your local election candidates to make them aware of atrial fibrillation (AF).

The numbers of undiagnosed people with AF touches every constituency in the UK and the next government needs to ensure a national AF screening programme is in place by the end of 2020 to reduce the unnecessary burden of managing AF-related strokes.

Please go to our website, contact our patient services team and reach out to your local parliamentary candidates. If they come knocking on your door or stop you in the street, please make your voice heard on behalf of all those affected by AF.
Thank You to everyone who attended our Parliamentary Event!

Fundraising
We received lots of excellent applications for Arrhythmia Alliance’s place in the Virgin Money London Marathon 2020. Special thanks to everyone who entered.

We are delighted to announce that we have offered the place to 20 year old Maddy who ran in 2018 and completed it in 6 hours and 5 minutes. This time, she aims to finish it in around 4 hours!

Maddy chose to run for Arrhythmia Alliance because her mum lives with a heart condition and she wants to give back to the charity. Maddy has given herself a fundraising target of £4000!
