A special Christmas message from Rev. Paul Hudson:

Greetings from our homes to yours, with many prayers for God’s blessings upon you as we celebrate the first coming of Christ Jesus our Saviour, and anticipate His return!
Did you know that 85% of pastors around the world have had no formal training in theology or ministry[1]? We thank you for your faithful support as we continue to serve dear brothers, equipping, encouraging and empowering them to preach and teach the Word of God with accuracy and with passion, reaching the lost in their own cultures and languages. Through Carey International Pastoral Training, we have the privilege of serving some of these dear brothers, bringing them theological teaching that they would not otherwise receive.

Although it has been a challenging year for Carey International Pastoral Training, there have been many blessings, as we have been able to focus on things that will make us stronger as the Lord “opens the skies” in 2021.
Our VP International, Dr. Tim Beavis has written an excellent summary of 2020, which you can find by following this link or clicking on the picture.

It is said that every soldier in the field has three (or more!) in support. Well, for Carey International Pastoral Training, the reverse is true. We currently have only four full-time and one part-time staff member, supporting all the training that is conducted around the world (40 weeks in 2019!). For most of our training, we rely upon volunteer instructors - pastors whose congregations release them to travel to hard places and teach those who never get formal theological training, and behind each of these workers are teams of supporters like you!
Here are some ways in which you could pray for us:

  • Instructors and students: for safety and health as they travel for courses.
  • Families: for physical needs, for health and safety, and for families alone during teaching weeks.
  • Churches in areas suffering persecution: for safety and boldness to make Christ known.
  • Carey International Pastoral Training: for additional partners in prayerful and financial support.

May the Lord bless and keep each of us in the coming year, and may we always be eager to engage in the work for which He has called us, to carry the Gospel to the ends of the earth, for the praise and honour and glory of His name!
