If you have not had a chance already, there is still time to make a donation to help L'Arche Toronto provide the support, opportunities and connections that promote healthy, meaningful and connected lives during and coming out of this pandemic.

This year has meant many changes for all of us! Instead of meeting friends and family in person, we have learned to live with porch visits, phone calls and virtual get-togethers. Connections and the vibrant community life aspects of L’Arche life have been particularly difficult to maintain, yet we are all making the best of it!

Instead of going out to their day programs, some members have transitioned to taking part in Sol Express and other exercise and creative arts sessions online. Weekly community connections and time of prayer continue on ZOOM. For some members, however, online meeting methods are difficult to use.

Therefore, we have started a new daytime support program with an additional assistant in each home providing activities to engage core members during the day – be it, arts and crafts, going on errands, getting to appointments or, as allowed, having socially distanced visits with family and friends.

Please make a contribution to L’Arche Toronto today to help us provide support, opportunities and connections that promote healthy, meaningful and connected lives during and coming out of this pandemic.

Here’s how you can help:

·        $1,000 will provide a full week of focussed daytime support in one of our homes, on a one-to-one or small group basis.

·        $500 will provide two art kits for individuals who are taking part in Sol Express programming virtually.

·        $360 will allow an artist to take part in weekly Sol Express programming on ZOOM for three months

·        $100 will provide focussed one-to-one or small group support for a day in one of our homes or the community.

Please donate to L’Arche Toronto as we continue to navigate through COVID-19, while offering members a home, varied opportunities for personal development and connection to friends and family.

The EVERYONE BELONGS! will raise $3.8 million over the next few years to create a new home, approximately 4,000 square feet, all on a single floor in a new condominium development to welcome five core members and three assistants in order to provide a fully-accessible, barrier-free and inclusive lifestyle.

Our wonderful Capital Campaign Cabinet comprised of Dorothy Brophy, Mark Guslits, Margaret Herd, Ted Hyland, Sandy Munro and Gerry Rocchi are currently securing leadership gifts towards this campaign. For over 45 years, the L'Arche Toronto community has brought to life the mission of L'Arche, where women and men, with and without intellectual disabilities, share life in community by engaging with a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours.

L'Arche Toronto provides homes and supports for daily living, employment and volunteer placements, and community participation. We also offer Sol Express, a creative and performance arts program, and Trying It on For Size (TIFS), a life skills program. L'Arche Toronto helps persons with intellectual disabilities discover their gifts and abilities, and supports them to achieve their goals for a meaningful life.
