My son and I were recently talking about the world’s attempts to create the “metaverse”, a fully immersive virtual reality where people can take on identities and be part of a story rather than just watching it. But, as usual, the world can only offer mudpies while God provides the real feast. We see this in reading of Christ’s advent in John chapter 1. While this 40,000 foot view of the advent lacks the details of Matthew and Luke’s accounts, it includes verses like 12 & 13.
“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:12-13
This the REAL fully immersive story with our new identity found in Christ. It is for ALL who believe, and it’s what BVI works to proclaim to children all over the world.
Thank you for your support and encouragement through 2022. It’s been a year in which we’ve seen children on the other side of the globe learning about the Savior through BVI materials supplied to partners in places like Mongolia (see video below). And just yesterday I heard of a child here in Lancaster County who trusted Christ as Savior after her family read through our
Philippians Family Worship Series. That’s the real and immersive story of Emmanuel, God with us.
