MAKING A LIST, CHECKING IT TWICE
This past summer while cleaning out the attic of the BCM, one of our students found an old pocket folder stuffed in a box. When they handed it to me, I realized it was an old freshman contact list from 2003, my freshman year. I quickly scanned the pages and, lo and behold, there was my name. My shock grew as I found other names on the list: David, who pastors in California, and his wife Brittany; Andrew, my old roommate, who faithfully serves in South Carolina; Abbie, Anna, and Heather who all spent time overseas as missionaries after graduating. The list went on and on.
This year has its own list. It includes Hayden and Amie who joined a small group (we call Villages) in the Hotz Hall. Maddie is already trying to figure out how to go overseas this summer. Yang Kai doesn't yet know Jesus, but he loves his Village (two of them, in fact) and is hearing the Gospel from multiple friends every week. The list goes on and on. Only the Lord knows where he'll take them. Prayerfully, they'll follow in the footsteps of so many of you to become faithful church members, parents, missionaries, and church planters.
I want you to know how thankful we are for your support. Every prayer, every encouraging note, every donation of supplies or financial gift is vital to our efforts to engage the students on our list at the University of Arkansas. We routinely pray Luke 10:2 prayers around here-that the Lord of the Harvest would send more laborers into this ready harvest field. Our staff and student leaders are personifications of God's answer to those prayers. Your contributions go a long way in answering those prayers too. They provide the staff, the tools and even the extra time needed to accomplish this task. As you're praying for us this Christmas, please prayerfully consider the difference you can make through a financial gift to the Baptist Collegiate Ministry. Gifts can be made at www.cylarkansas.com/giving or by sending a check to the address below.
I pray that you and your family have a blessed Christmas. Thank you so much for your love and support,
Grace and peace,
