News from the Cellar

The crew has been working on bottling some of our 2020 and 2021 wines. They're also barreling down 2022 wines and of course, cleaning tanks!

We are really excited for one of our new Estate wines being released next year. Our Itasca grapes were the most recently planted and were released for growers in 2017. We love it because of its chemistry, it ripens early which helps to spread the harvest season out. It typically has good PH (less acidity) and good levels of brix which gives good alcohol levels. Itasca has notes of kiwi, quince, pear and gooseberry. It will be ready for release in the spring. We are so excited for you to try it!

News from the Vineyard

The vines have received their Fall feeding after harvest. It is important to replenish the vines with nutrients such as Nitrogen, Potassium, Phosphorus, etc. after working so hard all season to make the delicious fruit for our wines! The nutrient stores that exist in the vines heading into the Winter season are stashed away until the vines are ready to push buds in the Spring. Most of these nutrients are stored in the roots of the grapevine. This season we applied some beautiful compost from Emmet County Recycling. The vines are fed and tucked away for our long, unpredictable Winter. Join us in wishing the vines a snow filled, cold but not too cold, dormant season. Cheers!
