DEADLINE FOR GIVING THE GIFT OF HELP
TO OUR NEIGHBORS AND CLCC
As many of you know a few homeowners and a board member started a Go Fund Me site to raise money to help re-build our neighborhood and aid homeowners who lost homes in the devasting East Troublesome Fire. Many owners, their friends and families have already generously given funds toward this effort. Thank you as you inspire and touch us with your care and thoughtfulness!

As the holiday season and New Year approach the Fund will continue until the clock strikes midnight on December 31, 2020 and we usher in a new year of helping our neighbors and finding silver linings in emotional and troubling times.

WHERE WILL THE MONEY GO?
100% of donated funds will go to either the Columbine Lake owners/staff who lost their homes or to community rebuilding efforts. Each donor gets to choose where their donation goes.

WHO BENEFITS?
Our small community suffered huge losses of homes, property, infrastructure. Estimates are millions and millions of dollars. Homeowners’ individual and our HOA Insurance does not cover all of the need.

HOW CAN YOU GIVE?
Let’s pull together to GIVE THE GIFT OF HELP THIS SEASON! Nothing is too large or too small, anything helps. You can go online to GO FUND ME -Columbine Fire Fund or write a check to the office to: CLCC with Columbine Fire Fund in the notes section along with letting us know how you would like your funds directed.
Stanley/Simpkins Property Purchase Update
As an update, the 21+ acre Stanley/Simpkins property, which is adjacent to CLCC, is still in the process of being purchased by the town of Grand Lake. The committee established by the CLCC Board of Directors is continuing to research and reach out to the Town of Grand Lake, in order to give feedback on possible plans. We have also engaged with our attorneys to address water rights concerns. The latest information is that the purchase has been pushed out from the closing on December 22 to sometime in February. Our CLCC Board President has reached out to the mayor, and the committee has been in discussions with the GL Town Manager, and will continue to do so. In addition, a letter was sent to each member of CLCC to inform you of the purchase, and you are encouraged to voice any questions or concerns to Grand Lake Townhall, per instructions in that Email letter. We thank each of you that has already done so, encourage all others to do so as well, and we will keep you updated as the purchase proceeds.
Mountain Lions
Mountain lions have been sighted in CLCC lately so please be careful especially with children, dogs and cats playing outside.

The fire has displaced much of the wildlife. The animals will be looking in many different locations for sources of food. Please remember to make sure to properly dispose of trash and make sure the trash door gets closed. CLCC will be providing an additional small roll off for the Holidays to help with trash. Dave has ordered one with a lid to keep the animals out.
Owner's Regulation Article VI Update
During the December 12th Board of Directors meeting a revised version of the article was approved unanimously. An email blast will be sent out to the entire community and all STR owners with more details.

Updates include:
1).  Changing from an annual CLCC STR registration process that today occurs only in January of each calendar year to a new online STR registration process that will occur over the course of the year coincident with the timing of the required Grand County STR registration process for all STR properties.
2). Providing for an annual $100.00 STR Registration Fee for all CLCC STRs to cover expenses related to the ongoing administration and management of the STR program within CLCC, including compliance. A Part Time CLCC staff member will assume responsibility for all the tasks related to the STR program that have been performed over the last two years on a voluntary basis by a board member (Geoff Schaney).
3). New verbiage that precludes a Long Term Renter from operating his or her occupied rental property as an STR or a sublet LTR.

East Troublesome Fire Resources

Since the CLCC shop was destroyed by the fire we are in need of a garage to store the CLCC plow trucks this winter. If you can help out please let us know office@columbinelake.com
Got Pike?
Attention all fisherpersons. Jon Ewert the Regional fish biologist for our region with Colorado Parks and Wildlife is in search of pike for research. If you catch a pike please place it in a plastic bag and bring to the office. Colorado Parks and Wildlife are conducting studies to determine where the pike in our lake originated.  It is in the developmental stages and could provide valuable details. Let's target those pike.
What we are working on
The staff, BOD and some homeowner volunteers are hard at work with

ETF fire recovery efforts, including but not limited to, the rebuilding of the shop, insurance claim processing, reseeding, slash and water quality concern with Harbison Ditch, Silt Pond and Three Lakes.

Trash Lock - currently has been delayed due to technical issues after the fire.

ARC- Fine tuning the fast track approval process for homeowners. Online file submission coming soon.

Please understand we are working extremely hard on the above projects and once we have more information to share we will.

Feeding Wildlife Puts Everyone at Risk
We know people mean well when they give tidbits to wildlife. What many don’t realize is that feeding big game is bad for the animals and dangerous for people.

While putting out food for animals like foxes and deer seems harmless, repercussions can be disastrous. Please don't feed the wildlife!
