Hello,
My name is Tricia and I have not purchased your kit yet because I thought you were in South Africia. The last time something came from Africa to me took 6 months. I'm interested in the basic darted body kit. I just don't want to buy the wrong one. I really want to draft my own bodice. I found one of your books eBay that was pants. So, I was wondering if your kit teaches me how to draft my own bodice?
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Tricia Shelton
Hello Tricia,
Thank you for your interest in Islander Sewing Systems.
Our Bodice Fit Kits include the basic block/sloper that has been drafted for a general fit. With this kit we take you through the process of “pin fitting” a muslin and then how to transfer the changes to the original pattern. This results in a “personal sloper” and its true a game changer for fitting and saves you time & money.
The personal sloper can be used to create any type of garment by adding the design elements of your choice. Or this sloper can simply be used to lay on top of a commercial pattern to identify pattern alterations needed before cutting.
To easily add design elements to a personal sloper, such as sleeve styles, collars, pockets, yokes and more you want the best drafting book, Patternmaking Made Easy, by Connie Amadon Crawford. This book is used in colleges and by professional seamstresses and designers all over this country and beyond.
To understand more about slopers please watch my free fitting videos on YouTube. Here is the link to the Knit Fit Series. Knit Fit Series - YouTube

Happy Sewing!!
