March 2021
What are your plans for spring break?
We are having two day camps over spring break. March 16 is Food and Healthy Living. March 17 is STEM. If you would like to volunteer to assist with either camp, email Mindy or Cody. We will have Delaney Cruzan teaching out yoga workshop on March 16, she is our SE District Representative. Comfortable athletic clothing is suggested as well as a water bottle. We look forward to seeing everyone! If you know someone who might need financial assistance, click here for the scholarship form.

ELH demonstrates safety
Edmond Light Horse 4-H had a good club meeting on Feb. 23. Emily Bules gave an informative presentation on a horse show first aid kit and Jessica and Cheryl Atherton led an enjoyable recreation activity creating stall signs for the March 6th Horse Show! We love seeing club meetings that are educational, fun, and tie directly into your 4-H project.

Edmond Light Horse always updates their Facebook group on a regular basis. Click here to see a great club Facebook group. Submit your club stories and updates to Mindy for a feature in the newsletter.

Food, Fun, 4-H set to kick off again in May
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit early last year, many people were confined to their homes. As a way to reach and keep in touch with 4-H members, the Oklahoma 4-H Youth Development program designed the Food, Fun, 4-H program. This hands-on activity was so popular, it’s back for another run this summer. The program also is operating in 55 classrooms across the state this school year.

The next summer Food, Fun, 4-H is slated to begin in May and will run through August and will focus on international cuisine.

COVID-19 Guidance
Please remember that as 4-H clubs meet, you must adhere to the state 4-H guidelines.

  • No more than 50 people at a time.
  • Face masks are required for all 4-H members and leaders in attendance.
  • Maintain a distance of 6 feet apart.
  • Wash hands regularly with soap and warm water. Lather your hands with soap for a minimum of 20 seconds and rinse with warm water.
  • Use hand sanitizer when hand washing isn't possible.
  • Food must be prepackaged or brought by the person consuming it.
