Wisdom Wednesday
Woman Stands Shining
This #WisdomWednesday features activist, artist and writer Woman Stands Shining (Pat McCabe) of the Diné (Navajo) Nation. During the 2019 Festival of Faiths: "Sacred Cosmos - Faith and Science," she discussed interbeing, suggesting that we all are part of a sacred hoop of life: "Every form of life gets to have a place on this sacred hoop, and every form of life has a perfect design for thriving life." But, she adds, "Every single member of this sacred hoop of life has to uphold their part or the integrity of the hoop begins to fail."

Catch Up With Our
Stories From the Movement
As the racial justice movement gained momentum in Louisville, CIR set out to document this pivotal moment through the lens of faith. In recent months, we've talked with community members about what has inspired them to rise up and how faith has shaped their role in the movement.

The result is a video series chronicling their voices. Visit our YouTube channel to see past episodes — or subscribe to see new videos as soon as they're released!
Common Action
Volunteer Drivers Needed
Louisville urgently needs volunteers to deliver emergency food boxes and durable goods to individuals and families in quarantine. Volunteers must provide their own transportation. Although there will be no contact with recipients, masks and gloves will be provided.

The details:

  • Five to six drivers are needed daily to deliver food boxes. These volunteers will pick up boxes at The Salvation Army (911 S. Brook St.) between 10:30–11 a.m. Typically there are between 4-10 food boxes, which take anywhere from 2-4 hours to deliver.
  • One to two drivers are needed daily to deliver durable goods. These volunteers will pick up boxes at Louisville Metro Public Health Department, 400 E. Gray St. It typically takes 2-4 hours to drop off between 6-15 boxes.

Interested volunteers should email Janice Cates.
