And my God shall supply all your need
according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19 NKJV
There are certain Scriptures that are “go-tos” for many believers – Scriptures that especially resonate because they address our most fundamental needs, providing special comfort, security and strength. Philippians 4:19 is one of my favorites. Recently, studying it within context, what impresses me most is how its promise that God will supply all our needs is connected to us ministering to the needs of others.
The Philippians blessed Paul and as a result, God blessed them. When we give, our first desires should be to bless others and honor God. When we are generous, we can expect the Lord to be generous with us as well.
Our God is a Giver. God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. And giving goes beyond money – it can relate to anything we have that has value.
The Lord wants to meet our needs, but He also wants us to help meet the needs of others, and do so with a glad heart. By doing so, we reflect His glory, and help inspire a world that doesn’t know Him to recognize and receive Him.
Blessings,
Minister Ann Pinkney
