Message from the Police Department:
The Whitefish Bay Police Department along with other area police departments have seen an increase in Catalytic Converter thefts. Catalytic Converters are being targeted for the precious metals they contain. Here are some tips for decreasing the chances of your Catalytic Converter being stolen:
  • When possible, park in well-lit areas and close to building entrances.
  • If you have a garage at your house, park your car inside and keep the garage door shut.
  • At night have the area where your vehicle is parked well lit.
  • Have the catalytic converter welded to your car's frame, which may make it harder to steal.
  • Have a catalytic converter anti-theft device installed.
  • If you have a car alarm, see if it can be calibrated to set off when it detects vibration.
If you see any suspicious vehicles or persons, please call 911.
