PLANS FOR OLD CITY HALL MOVE FORWARD
Eli Moreno, Co-Founder of SURGE Tacoma, has entered into negotiations with the City of Tacoma to redevelop Old City Hall into a mixed-use project which would include co-working spaces, a tech center, event space, restaurants, and micro apartments.

LIME BIKE COMES TO TACOMA
Last Friday, bike share company, Lime Bike, deployed 250 electric scooters and 250 e-bikes throughout Tacoma as part of a 60-day trial. You may see these bikes in the public right-of-way, on sidewalks, or in other locations.

METRO PARKS UPDATES AT WAKE UP!
This has been one of the busiest years in the history of Metro Parks Tacoma. Hunter George, the park district’s chief public affairs officer, will share updates on the $51 million aquarium that just opened, as well as status reports on the $31 million Eastside Community Center that opens in October and the new park at Point Defiance.  MORE INFORMATION HERE

The Manufacturing Industrial Council for the South Sound holds its Launch Party Sept. 26 with a celebration of the area's manufacturing, industrial and maritime community.

The evening event at Foss Waterway Seaport will honor the rich history and economic impact of industry and maritime in the South Sound and the importance of having the Manufacturing Industrial Council dedicated to the community's interests. Space is limited. MORE INFORMATION HERE.

Chamber member The Art of Crunch is a finalist in the Kitsap Bank edg3 FUND contest.This competition recognizes entrepreneurs invested in growing the Kitsap community economically, socially, and environmentally.
Chamber members Tacoma Public Schools and Metro Parks Tacoma's joint Environmental Learning Center received another design award.
The new building houses Tacoma's Science and Math Institute (SAMI) students.
