75 years ago William R. McNulty, my father, had an idea about starting a lumber yard in his hometown of Hingham Ma. Through his hard work and determination he did just that. 75 years later, these same attributes are instilled in the 90+ employees at Hingham Lumber Company!
I cannot emphasize enough, the gratitude I have for all HLC employees, current and past, for their contribution to our success. Although many changes have been made over the three quarters of a century since our founding, it is basic core values that have been instrumental to our growth. Those core values include building long lasting relationships with our customers while providing value added services. We will continue to investigate new products, technologies and services that will help you manage and grow your business!
Among events scheduled this year was an Employee Celebration held in June at Johnny Mac’s. Over 150 employees, spouses, and children had a fantastic day of great food, music, and fun! The day was capped off with a presentation of a gift from all the HLC employees to my brother John and myself. The gift was an American flag and flagpole that now flies proudly between the HLC Warehouse and Store. John and I want to thank all our employees for this thoughtful gift.
Beyond celebrations, we have been doing the serious work to identify ways that make your business more efficient, productive, and successful. As we close out this year of celebrations, I want to thank all of you that have contributed so much to the success of Hingham Lumber Company, I thank you for the trust and confidence that you place in us!
Sincerely,
Tom McNulty
