Dear Friends,

Our nation, our University, and our College are struggling to deal with the tragic killings of George Floyd, David McAtee, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and so many others from the African American community. Please know that our College vehemently rejects the forces responsible for these injustices. We stand against the racism, hate, and violence. And we reject those who promote such evils in our society.

Our HHP community has been deeply affected by these unconscionable acts. Many of us are coping with pain and loss, sadness and anger. This is especially true for African Americans, whose voices are clearly being heard and who we strive to support.

As part of this ongoing effort, we will use Zoom to organize a College-wide town hall this Friday at 2 p.m. ( Please RSVP to receive access. ) We invite the entire HHP family faculty, staff, and students – to come together for this event. It will be a conversation among friends, a time for listening and being heard in a safe and welcoming environment.

I hope you can join us.
