Dear Colleague,
I hope that you will join us at the
Ohio-ACC 25th Annual Meeting on Saturday, October 31, at the Hilton Columbus at Easton. Celebrating our 25th year will be made extra special with many of our past chapter presidents attending and moderating the sessions. Our annual conference is the ideal setting for the entire cardiovascular team to join together, learn and network.
The program committee has crafted an agenda that reflects joint areas of interest. It is our honor to welcome
Dr. Blase A. Carabello as our guest lecturer for the
4th Annual Dr. Richard P. Lewis Memorial Lecture. Dr. Carabello is Chair of Cardiology at Mount Sinai Heart at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, and also serves as Medical Director of the Heart Valve Center at The Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Carabello is an internationally recognized expert in the field of valvular heart disease. He has co-authored the American Heart Association/American College of Cardiology Guidelines for the Treatment of Valvular Disease from 1998-2014. In 2009, he was honored by the American College of Cardiology as a recipient of its prestigious Distinguished Scientist Award.
In addition,
Dr. Dipti Itchhaporia will present the report from the ACC. She is a former Chair of the ACC Board of Governors and Current Board of Trustees member.
Please join us to celebrate 25 years together in the Ohio Chapter.
ACC Legislative Conference
Please plan to attend the ACC's Legislative Conference
in Washington, DC, at the Fairmont Hotel on October 18-20. There will be educational sessions on the current legislative issues facing us. Additionally we will meet with our legislators to discuss these issues that affect patients and providers. I think that you will agree how powerful it is to carry our message to Capitol Hill together.

The ACC is in the process of conducting its Professional Life Study which has been conducted every 10 years, last done in 2005. The results from the study will be used to learn how career decisions of men and women in cardiology influence their professional and personal lives. These results will be compared with results from previous studies.
The survey should take about 10-12 mintues to complete. This is not a census study, therefore only a sampling of members have been contacted to participate in the study.
If you receive an email from Dr. Kim Williams to complete the survey, please do so. As a small token of our appreciation, you will have a chance to win one of four $250 Apple gift cards.
