Dear Parishioners,
In light of today’s Supreme Court ruling, I am writing to provide our Saint William family an update on our preparedness and response based on recent reports of actions toward those, including churches, associated with pro-life efforts and efforts to overturn Roe v. Wade. Some of the actions cited in these reports include planned demonstrations, disruptions of worship services, and property damage.
While we have not had any known threats directed specifically at our parish, I assure you our community’s safety continues to be a priority. For the past few weeks, in anticipation of the ruling, we have been working closely with the Diocese of Austin, Round Rock Police Department and Saint William staff to develop precautionary measures to help ensure the safety of everyone who comes to Saint William.
I encourage our parishioners to respond with prayer. In the event of a disruption or demonstration, please do not attempt to intervene. Instead, let’s remain silent, seated in our pews, and pray for all involved.
As a community, let us remember Saint William is a place of encounter. May we all feel enveloped with the Lord’s generous love and mercy.
Ad Jesum per Mariam,
