Dear Wonderful Lovejoy Community,

Thank you for helping make this a fantastic first week of school! Our students and teachers had a chance to connect in new and exciting ways.

We have heard some great feedback from our staff, students, and parents and we will continue to use that feedback to refine our virtual approach for the next few weeks.

Lovejoy ISD COVID Cases Dashboard

COVID Case Dashboard

In an effort to keep our parents, staff, and community informed, Lovejoy ISD has created a COVID Case Dashboard website that will be updated daily to reflect active lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in Lovejoy ISD.

In addition to posting information on the website, campus-wide notification will be sent to both parents and staff when a lab-confirmed positive case has been reported at a campus.

Lovejoy ISD will personally contact individuals who may have come in close contact (as defined by TEA) with a lab-confirmed positive case on a campus. If you are NOT directly contacted, then you are NOT someone who was identified as having close contact with a positive individual.

Saturday Morning with the Superintendent

This Saturday, Dr. Goddard and Team will host a "Virtual Saturday Morning with the Superintendent" webinar to answer pre-submitted questions from our community!

We will be live streaming this question and answer session on our Facebook page and will provide a link on the front of our Lovejoy ISD webpage. Our session will run from 8:00 am - 9:00 am.

We ask that you help us answer as many questions as possible by keeping your question brief. We will do our very best to answer as many questions as we can within the hour and those we do not have time for we will carry forward for another session!

Recognitions

Sloan Creek 5th Grader, Venya Raju, Published Author

We are Lovejoy Proud to share that Venya Raju, 5th grader at Sloan Creek, is a published author! Just Try: You’ll Be Surprised” is available on Amazon and other distribution channels.

The book is based on her experience in our Lovejoy community.

Venya’s story and its message are a genuine reflection of the young energetic minds around us. Below is an excerpt from the book…

“We tried thinking of ideas, but we just couldn’t find any other way. We wanted to make the flyers look more professional. A few days later, Rachel came over to see if we could print the flyers yet, but we still hadn’t bought new ink. So, we did the last thing we wanted to do: I took out a notebook and some crayons and tried to make an exact replica of the flyer. Once we were done, we grabbed our bikes and started our journey to distribute the flyers!”

Venya is keen on inspiring other children to help find their own message and sharing it with the world.
