Dear Wonderful Lovejoy Community,

Thank you for the amazing birthday wishes! I was so moved by the cards, Zoom meetings, videos, birthday songs, and the love you all have shown my family and me!

As we finish our second week of virtual learning, I continue to be so thankful for our excellent teachers, staff, students, and parents!

This week, I had a chance to visit some fantastic teachers in their classrooms as they were conducting virtual learning sessions. I was so impressed by the level of connection, engagement, and learning our teachers had with each and every one of their students.

Starting on September 8th, we will welcome back over 65% of our Leopards for On-Campus learning. Next week, each campus will be sending informational videos that will show families what they can expect as we start On-Campus this year. While there may be changes in procedures, signage, and some campus layouts, our commitment to educational excellence and Best Today. Better Tomorrow remains steadfast!

Reminders for On-Campus Learning

Face Coverings are required to help keep our Leopards healthy!

Please make sure your student has their face covering / mask with them each and every day.

The Fall Planning Guide and website contains information regarding On-Campus procedures as well as providing answers to Frequently Asked Questions.

Updates to Fall Planning Guide:

Mask guidance for some instructional & fine arts activities (Page 34)

Student learning (On-Campus or Virtual Leopard Learning) selections will re-open for the 2nd nine-weeks on Monday, September 28th. If families wish to change their students learning preference, you will be able to to do so starting on Monday, September 28th. Families who do not want to make any changes to their students learning preference, no action is needed.

Transportation Updates

The Transportation Department is in the process of making individual phone calls to each family that filed for a Hardship Exemption. Individual phone calls are a way for our Lovejoy Transportation team to visit with each family to work through available options. While phone calls are anticipated to continue into next week, our Lovejoy team is committed to reaching out to all families by close of business on Monday!

If your student is an eligible rider, you are able to see their routing information visiting the Lovejoy ISD Transportation Page.

Lovejoy ISD COVID Cases Dashboard

COVID Case Dashboard

In an effort to keep our parents, staff, and community informed, Lovejoy ISD has created a COVID Case Dashboard website that will be updated daily to reflect active lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in Lovejoy ISD.

In addition to posting information on the website, campus-wide notification will be sent to both parents and staff when a lab-confirmed positive case has been reported at a campus.

Lovejoy ISD will personally contact individuals who may have come in close contact (as defined by TEA) with a lab-confirmed positive case on a campus. If you are NOT directly contacted, then you are NOT someone who was identified as having close contact with a positive individual.
