Dear Wonderful Lovejoy Community,

What makes Lovejoy so special is that we are all in as a community to ensure great things happen for our students, teachers, staff, and kids. As we continue to face challenging times, we are One Heart. One Lovejoy. It is important that we stay connected and united in all we do.

We hope you will help provide words of affirmation and appreciation for staff through the 7th Annual Lovejoy Letter Writing Campaign. This is a great time to show the Lovejoy staff the power of their impact.

We are excited about bringing all of our Leopards home next week and uniting as One Heart. One Lovejoy. for our Homecoming festivities! Please join us in our dress-up spirit days, community pep rally on Wednesday the 28th, and for our game day fun on Friday, October 30th, with what we hope is a special after game firework show organized by our LHS Student Council!

We hope you will join us next week as we show how "We Live Lovejoy!"

Homecoming Events
LHS Student Council Seeking
Donations for Homecoming Fireworks
Be a part of making Homecoming 2020 a BANG at Lovejoy High School for our students.

Homecoming is the first high school event since returning to campus, and while things look different from past celebrations, we look forward to creating new memories and making it a night to remember for our student body and Lovejoy community.

Following the Homecoming Game, LHS Student Council (STUCO) invites you to join them with a community fireworks showcase.

STUCO is looking for families, community members, or organizations who would like to financially partner with us to provide a post-game fireworks show for our students and Lovejoy families. STUCO hopes to raise $5000 which will support an 8-10 minute fireworks show after the football game on October 30.

As the cost is larger than STUCO's budget, donations are being accepted. Any level of donation is appreciated.

Checks and cash payments made and delivered to Lovejoy High School.

*All excess funds will go to the Senior Pep Rally then towards the new tradition of fireworks at the Homecoming game next year.
Transportation Update
During the October 19th Board Meeting, Trustees approved adding 3 additional fee-based bus routes to accommodate 169 rider requests.

The Transportation Department will be reaching out personally to these families over the next two weeks to schedule routes.

The district continues to collect data to consider the potential addition of future fee-based routes.
Letter Writing Campaign
Letters do not have to be elaborate or lengthy. The goal is just for people to write a note of thanks to show appreciation to their teachers, the staff and administration in our district. It is the opportunity for us to take the time to let each person who makes a difference for us throughout the school day know how much we value them.
LISD Training Room Voting Location
Positions 4, 5, & 7 of the LISD Board of Trustees are on the ballot for the Nov. 3 election. Early Voting will run through Friday, October. 30.

The LISD Training Room, Portable #1 at the Admin building, is a Collin County Vote Center. Click here to learn more.
Did You Know?
Lovejoy ISD has started a new series called "Did You Know?" that covers facts and information from across the district.

If you missed any of our social media posts from earlier in the week, please visit our webpage to learn more!
COVID Case
Notification & Dashboard

In accordance with TEA required notifications and in an effort to keep our parents, staff, and community informed, Lovejoy ISD will be sending email notifications to parents and staff for each on-campus occurance of a positive COVID case.

We have created a COVID Case Dashboard website that is now being updated throughout the day to reflect real-time active lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in Lovejoy ISD.

Lovejoy ISD will personally contact individuals who may have come in close contact (as defined by TEA) with a lab-confirmed positive case on a campus. If you are NOT directly contacted, then you are NOT someone who was identified as having close contact with a positive individual.

The COVID Case Dashboard is accessible from the main district website, each campus website and can be accessed here.

1st Annual Lovejoy Visual Arts (LJVA)
 Illustrated Cookbook
The past few months have thrown countless new challenges our way as a country and community. While we have had to miss out or reimagine many of the "norms" of our LJVA community's culture; one of the things that we have missed most is the chance to sit together around a table and share our favorite foods in celebration of things both big and small. Because of our LJVA belief that challenges simply offer a chance to be creative problem solvers, Lovejoy Visual Arts is excited to introduce the 1st Annual LJVA Illustrated Cookbook!

The diversity, community, and fellowship that we celebrate in the Lovejoy Visual Art studios is oftentimes centered around a good meal, sharing stories, laughs, and memories like all great family get togethers. In an effort to capture and celebrate the foods and memories that have brought us together, we are inviting our Lovejoy Community to do the same.

Complete the attached Google Form to share your own recipe and have it included in the 1st Annual LJVA Illustrated Cookbook! From the recipes that are submitted, our studio artists will select featured recipes to illustrate in their own artistic language. Please use the Google form below to submit your own favorite family recipe so that it can be included in this new Lovejoy Tradition!
