Wonderful Lovejoy Community,

Thank you for your continued patience as we work diligently to refine our practices with drop off and pick up procedures. We have seen carpool lane wait times reduced significantly over the course of the week and thank you, once again, for your patience.

We have had a few cases of COVID reported within the district. The majority of exposure for our cases occurred outside of the school day. Please continue to help us keep our Leopards healthy.

I reminded our staff earlier this week; there have been great things that have come from adversity. During the Great Depression, the Golden Gate Bridge and Empire State buildings were constructed, signifying great things can be built during tough times and that there are some silver linings in those difficult times.

We hope you will join us tomorrow morning for the 4th edition of a Virtual Saturday with the Superintendent and Team!
Saturday with the Superintendent
Join us on our webinar from 8:00 - 9:00 am. We will cover questions submitted around budget, transportation, on-campus, and virtual learning.

Our webinar will be streamed live on Facebook and on our LISD website.. Click here for the link to our video stream and past webinars.
Congratulations to our Lovejoy High School 2021 Semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Competition.

16,000 students, or approximately one-third of the 50,000 high scorers, are notified that they have qualified as Semifinalists.

Semifinalists are the highest scoring entrants in each state.

To be considered for a National Merit® Scholarship, Semifinalists must demonstrate high academic standards, participation in school and community activities as well as demonstrate leadership abilities!

Congratulations to our Semi-Finalists!

Lovejoy Varsity and JV Tennis defeated Wylie East 18-1 this week and are 2-0 in district play. Next up will be the Princeton Panthers. Varsity will be at home next Tuesday and JV will travel to Princeton next Thursday. Come and cheer on your Leopards on Tuesday!

The Foundation for School Music has announced that the Lovejoy High School Percussion Ensemble, directed by Nathan Lewis has been selected as a Commended Winner in the Mark of Excellence/ National Percussion Ensemble Honors!
Thank you, North American Plastics!
We are beyond thankful for the generous partnership with North American Plastics.

President, CEO and Lovejoy Resident, Jason Askew reached out to Sloan Creek and partnered with us to provide our students and staff a phenomenal divider solution that will help not only keep our Leopards safe, but will also allow for our Leopards to still interact and socially connect with one another.

Please join us in showing our appreciation for North American Plastics and Jason Askew!
Notification & Dashboard

In accordance with TEA required notifications and in an effort to keep our parents, staff, and community informed, Lovejoy ISD will be sending email notifications to parents and staff for each occurance of a positive COVID case.

We have created a COVID Case Dashboard website that is now being updated throughout the day to reflect real-time active lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in Lovejoy ISD.
Lovejoy ISD will personally contact individuals who may have come in close contact (as defined by TEA) with a lab-confirmed positive case on a campus. If you are NOT directly contacted, then you are NOT someone who was identified as having close contact with a positive individual.

The COVID Case Dashboard is accessible from the main district website, each campus website and can be accessed here.
