A Message from Mike O'Brien
AGC MA Chairman of the Board, V.P. Gilbane Building Company

AGC MA continues to advocate and educate on issues that hold great importance to our industry. Mike shares a quick update on some of our most critical initiatives including: workforce development, the  growing concern on the opioid crisis facing the industry and safety.

Teams on Team, the Value of Lean Construction

On Thursday September 27th AGC MA collaborated with ASM to host "Teams on Team, the Value of Lean Construction" a panel discussion at Northeastern University. The sold-out event focused on how the industry currently implements the many tools and values that define lean.

A 6-member panel, moderated by Commodore Builders Project Executive James Apodaca, discussed how the collaborative process works towards eliminating waste, fosters continuous improvement and how lean construction methods seek to maximize a projects efficiency and value.
The panelists, Consigli Construction's Andrew Rouille, Central Ceiling's Chris McPherson, Gaston Electricals' Mike Weber, J.C Cannistraro' s Matt Cannistraro and ASKM & Associates Dr. Colin Milberg, shared their own stories and points of view on how lean processes are changing the way materials and information flow both on and off a job site.

AGC MA will be holding Quarterly Lean Construction Forums to continue and expand the collaborative dialogue among all project stakeholders including CM's and Subcontractors as well as owners, architects and end users to discuss production and delivery methods, lean work structure and supply, and how to anticipate risk and overcome challenges. For questions about AGC MA's Lean Construction Program Series or to get updates on the upcoming lean forum, contact AGC MA Director of Member Services
