August 7, 2024

Hello Westview Families,

Stefanie Rugaard here! I am your POW President for the 2024-2025 school year. My daughter Savannah is starting Lower Elementary and her fourth year at Westview. I am looking forward to meeting and reconnecting with both new and familiar faces this year, and I encourage you to get involved with POW!

As Westview gears up for another exciting school year, I want to remind you just how important your involvement is to our community. POW is dedicated to supporting our school’s mission through the active participation of parents and caregivers like you. From volunteering time, money, and talents to attending meetings and social events, your engagement helps to support Westview's mission and enrich the Westview experience for our children.

We look forward to your POW participation in the upcoming school year, and are excited to continue to support Westview especially as we embark on this new chapter in the school's history!

Best,

Stefanie Rugaard

POW President

Wanted! Reward If Found!

POW is on the search to help fill some spots on our Steering Committee as well as some other volunteer opportunities for this school year. One of the greatest rewards for seeing our children's growth is giving back to those who make it happen. Please join us as we write this new chapter in Our Westview Story.

Sandwiches, Salads, Students... Oh My!

Get ready to start back to school with a Faculty Luncheon hosted by POW on Meet the Teacher Day. POW would like to start the year off by treating our Wildcat Faculty to a sandwich and salad station set up in the Student Kitchen on Friday, August 16th. Wildcat families can drop off their treats to Ms. Candi or Mrs. Chapa in the front offices to be collected and set up. Please click the link below to purchase/make something or to help set up for the luncheon.

Do You Want to Be a Room Parent?

Is planning and communicating your niche? POW is looking for parents to volunteer to be a Room Parent for your child's class. The Room Parent is the main contact between the class parents and teacher(s). She/He would help coordinate class happenings, Trunk or Treat Gift Baskets, holiday celebrations, Family Fun Day Class Raffle Prize, teacher(s) birthday gifts, etc. It's a great way to get involved in your child's classroom and get to know other Wildcat families. Room Parents will receive messages and important school information from the Room Parent Coordinators or POW Steering Committee.

PLEASE SIGN UP TO BE A ROOM PARENT AT MEET THE TEACHER!

Popsicles on the Playground - Saturday, August 17

POW Wildcat Chat - Monday, August 19

POW has a plan to gather on Jacob's Landing for a Wildcat Chat on the morning of Monday, August 19 after drop-off.

After you drop off your Wildcat for their first day of school, head over to chat with other Wildcat parents at Jacob's Landing - the picnic tables by the track under the blue awnings. We will have some breakfast refreshments set up to enjoy while you get to chat with other Westview parents.

This is a great opportunity to meet other parents, and learn about all the great things POW has planned for the 2024-2025 school year.
