Come Find Your Place in the Chancel Choir Family!
In a community where lives and seasons are always changing, there is always room, and a need, for new voices in the Chancel Choir. If you have ever thought about joining us, this is your invitation to discover whether the choir might be your place.
Join us for our Fall Choir Open House on Wednesday, August 19, at 5:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Center. We will share a meal, meet members of the choir, enjoy plenty of fun and fellowship, and get a first look at this year’s Christmas Concert. There is no need to register, simply come!
You do not need previous choir experience, and you do not have to read music. Just bring the voice God gave you and a willingness to learn. During the evening, we will rehearse something enjoyable that everyone will have the opportunity to sing in worship on Sunday, August 23.
Singing in the choir is much more than participating in a musical group, as choir member Donna Kagan explains, “Participating in our church choir feels like a form of worship for me. It helps me express my faith through music while facilitating a deeper connection with God.”
The Chancel Choir is also a large “small group” within the church; a place where friendships grow, faith is shared, and people experience a genuine sense of belonging. Music is the vehicle that brings us together, but worship, fellowship, and service are at the heart of all we do. Donna describes it this way: “We learn to harmonize both musically and socially and we have a blast! We all leave practice on Wednesdays with smiles on our faces.” To hear more of Donna's testimony, visit the link below.
Come share a meal, meet the choir family, and experience the joy of making music together. There is a place for you, and we would love to welcome you!
For more information, contact Sean Pollock, Director of Worship & Events.

What is GriefShareTM
GriefShareTM is a support group to help you move through the grief process in a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. Through this group, you’ll discover what to expect in the days ahead and what’s “normal” in grief. Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, you’ll learn helpful ways of coping with grief, in all its unpredictability, and gain solid support each step of the way.
GriefShareTM is offered by volunteers who have walked their own journey of grief and loss. They are here to guide you and encourage you as you maneuver this new season.
Registration is required. Please use the link below to register, or email Sharon Weimert if you have questions.
Workbooks are not required but are available for a suggested price of $25. Scholarships are available.

Ultimate Things
Instead, collect treasures for yourselves in heaven, where moth and rust don’t eat them and where thieves don’t break in and steal them. Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. (Matthew 6:20-21)
Jesus tells us we should “collect treasures in heaven.” We should put our resources toward the eternal. Our finances, service, and speech should be measured in light of the fullness of God’s coming Kingdom. We should be wise in how we steward our finances today. Our ultimate hope is in God.

"Christianity's Family Tree"
Tuesday, August 18 at 9 AM
Adam Hamilton presents a welcoming, inspiring vision of eight Christian denominations and faith traditions. Comparing the Christian family to our own extended families, he contends that each denomination has a unique, valuable perspective to offer on the Christian faith.
The traditions he examines are Orthodoxy, Catholicism, Lutheranism, Presbyterianism, Anglicanism, Baptists, Pentecostalism, and Methodism. For each group, Hamilton gives a brief history, outlines major beliefs, and describes some things we can learn from that tradition to strengthen our own Christian faith.
Facilitator: Rev. Ellen Pollock, book is recommended.
If you have any questions, please contact Pat Hill, Care Coordinator - Discipleship.

"Breaking the Code"
Tuesdays, beginning September 8, from 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM
The Book of Revelation contains passages of great beauty and comfort as well as passages that strike us as bizarre, bewildering and sometimes frightening. So how can we discern God's message in this book? Apostle John sent this 'revelation' to the churches — to the community — to learn of God's message together.
Join us in this 7-week study to discuss how Christ will fulfill His promise to return and re-establish God's throne on earth. See how He continually strives to bring us into God's New Eden with Him. Together we can Break the Code of Revelation, of promise, of hope, and finally unbelievable joy in the presence of Jesus Christ.
Facilitator: Judy Stuart, book is recommended.
If you have any questions, please contact Pat Hill, Care Coordinator - Discipleship.

September Women’s Gathering (Mini Retreat)
Thursday, September 17, 2026 from 10 AM - 2 PM
“Sacred Threads: Wedding Gowns through the Ages”
Join us for a journey with Leigh Anne Browne, inviting you to explore the rich tapestry of history and culture through the lens of bridal fashion. Each gown tells a unique story, embodying the dreams, aspirations, and transformation of women across generations. From vintage lace and silk to contemporary minimalist designs, this journey through time will take us where tradition meets innovation and personal expression shines through every stitch.
What began as a modest collection of antique and vintage clothing has grown into an archive of more than 450 wedding gowns dating from the Civil War era through the present-day. Browne’s passion for historic garments began in childhood while exploring her mother’s closet and her grandmother’s attic. A seventh-generation Floridian, Browne later pursued a degree in American history and began collecting historic clothing in earnest, eventually focusing on bridal attire after acquiring her first Victorian wedding gown.
Please join us as Leigh Anne brings a sampling of her beautiful gowns and leads us on a journey from the Civil War through the present. Please contact Pat Hill if you have any questions or need help registering.
Menu: Chicken Salad wrap and Fresh Fruit with a Special Dessert
Cost: $20.00 Registration Deadline: September 10, 2026 at 12 PM
