Ministry Focus

Beach Believing...Lessons from the Sea of Galilee

Our second summer sermon series this year will focus on stories from the ministry of Jesus that all happened in and around the Sea of Galilee!

Pastor Harold will guide us during worship as we learn about when Jesus called his disciples, when Jesus calmed the storm, and when Jesus healed a man who had been plagued by pain and brokenness his entire life. We will then conclude the series with the only miracle story, other than the resurrection, that is found in all four gospels: the miracle of feeding the 5,000.

As we explore these stories that happened around the Sea of Galilee, our hope is that we will come to a deeper belief in Jesus Christ.

We invite you to join us for worship during this sermon series titled, "Beach Believing...Lessons from the Sea of Galilee" beginning next weekend (August 8 & 9).

Key Announcements

Come Find Your Place in the Choir Family!

Have you ever thought about singing in a choir? This is your invitation to give it a try!

Join us for the Choir Fall Open House on Wednesday, August 19, at 5:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Center. We’ll enjoy an evening of introductions, food, fun, and fellowship, you'll also get a first look at this year’s Christmas Concert.

You don’t need choir experience or a perfect voice. Simply come as you are and lend your voice! Together, we’ll learn something attainable and enjoyable for everyone to sing in worship on Sunday, August 23.

Our choir is more than a musical group; it’s a family. A big “small group” within the church where friendships grow, faith is shared, and everyone has a place. Music is the vehicle that brings us together, but fellowship is at the heart of all we do.

Come share a meal, meet the choir family, and discover the joy of making music together. We would love to welcome you! If you have any questions, please contact Sean Pollock, Director, Worship & Events.

Welcome Home!

Would you like to help spread hospitality and love throughout our community?

Many of you have noticed our new blue Welcome Home shirts. If you’d like to purchase one of your own, they’re now available on our online store!

When placing your order, you can choose to have your shirt shipped directly to you for a fee, or you can select free in-store pickup.

We’d love to see our Welcome Home shirts throughout the community as a visible reminder that everyone is welcome at New Covenant. Thank you for helping us share Christ’s love and create a welcoming spirit wherever you go!

Disciple Opportunities

A key to becoming part of this community of faith is to be a part of a group; this helps a big church feel smaller and connects you with others.

We offer Bible Studies, Small Groups, and Sunday Education Opportunities.

All of our Sunday classes are happy to welcome you to come check them out. For more information on any of these, please contact Pat Hill - Care Coordinator for Discipleship.

General Announcements

Giving is about the Heart

In everything I did. I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord himself said: “It is more blessed to give than to receive”. (Acts 20:35)

We’re not called to give an identical offering and shouldn’t judge others based on how much they’re able to give. Neither should we feel guilty or compelled to give out of obligation. Jesus and His disciples saw the widow who put two small copper coins in the offering box and Jesus highlighted the poor widow’s sacrifice. She gave a perfect gift because she gave what she had, from the heart

“Spirited Singles” Sunday School Class New Study

"Christianity and World Religions – Questions We Ask About Other Faiths” by Adam Hamilton

A 6-week video-based study. This study explores four major world religions -Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, and Judaism and compares the beliefs of each with those of Christianity.

In examining these major world religions and the beliefs of their followers, Hamilton encourages us as Christians to build bridges with others so that we might grow in our faith, seek peace in our world, love our neighbors, and find positive ways to share the gospel.

Study begins Sunday, August 2 at 10:15am in classroom 3. Facilitator is Kathy Wolfe. All are welcome!

September Women’s Gathering (Mini Retreat)

Thursday, September 17, 2026 from 10 AM - 2 PM

“Sacred Threads: Wedding Gowns through the Ages”

Join us for a journey with Leigh Anne Browne, inviting you to explore the rich tapestry of history and culture through the lens of bridal fashion. Each gown tells a unique story, embodying the dreams, aspirations, and transformation of women across generations. From vintage lace and silk to contemporary minimalist designs, this journey through time will take us where tradition meets innovation and personal expression shines through every stitch.

What began as a modest collection of antique and vintage clothing has grown into an archive of more than 450 wedding gowns dating from the Civil War era through the present-day. Browne’s passion for historic garments began in childhood while exploring her mother’s closet and her grandmother’s attic. A seventh-generation Floridian, Browne later pursued a degree in American history and began collecting historic clothing in earnest, eventually focusing on bridal attire after acquiring her first Victorian wedding gown.

Please join us as Leigh Anne brings a sampling of her beautiful gowns and leads us on a journey from the Civil War through the present. Please contact Pat Hill if you have any questions or need help registering.

Upcoming Holy Land Tour and Journeys of Paul Tour

Pastor Harold will lead a pilgrimage to the Holy Land next spring (March 8 – 17, 2027).

In addition, Pastor Harold will be leading a cruise tour that follows in the footsteps of the Apostle Paul. The cruise (October 6 – 17, 2027) will take us to towns where Paul had established churches such as Philippi, Thessaloniki, Corinth, Athens, and Ephesus. There also will be stops in Rhodes, Mykonos, and Santorini, Greece.

If you are interested in learning more about these tours, you can pick up a brochure at the Welcome Center in the East Narthex, download the information from the New Covenant website, or use the links below.

In the fall, Pastor Harold will hold information meetings to talk more about these trips, answer questions, and share more details.
