Dear Colleagues,
Dr. Adam Bradford has been serving as Interim Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs for the last year. His leadership has been especially valuable during a time of presidential transition and I appreciate his dedicated commitment to ISU’s continued success. As we prepare to launch an official search for the next Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, with the search firm Summit Search Solutions, I want to share updates, along with the estimated timeline. The search will begin in the very near future and we hope to have a permanent provost in place during the summer or fall of 2025.
I’ve asked two individuals to co-chair the search committee. Fredi Giesler, Assistant Professor for Social Work and Chair of the Faculty Senate for 2024-25, along with Shane Hunt, Professor and Dean for the College of Business. I am confident in their leadership to facilitate an inclusive search process involving a representative search committee and the campus community. I’ve also spoken with the executive council of the Faculty Senate to affirm active participation from this important group of faculty representatives.
Throughout the search process, there will be several opportunities for faculty and staff to be involved, meet candidates and provide feedback. I encourage your active engagement throughout the search. Identifying the next leader for our academic enterprise is an important step for Idaho State University and the opportunity to continue charting our bold path forward together. More information about the search process will be shared in the coming weeks with additional updates as we convene for the Fall semester 2024.
President Robert W. Wagner, Ph.D.
