From Rabbi Silver
Dear Shir Chadash community,

I am writing to let you know that after a great deal of thought and consultation, I am not going to be exercising the option on my current contract. This means I shall be leaving Shir Chadash in the early summer of 2022.

The pandemic and all its associated disruptions, along with being asked to consider a post that in the end was not the right one for me, has made me re-evaluate my priorities, just as many of us are right now. I have realized that I want to live closer to at least some members of my far-flung family. Yet at the same time, Shir Chadash has been my home these past five years. So this has been a difficult decision to arrive at, both professionally and personally.

But human lives are about change, and the name of our community reflects that truth.

I look forward to a fruitful year of worshipping, learning and growing together. Let’s make it the best one yet.

Warmly
Rabbi Silver
