The Texas TSA Board of Directors and Staff have worked diligently in creating a virtual Texas TSA State Conference. The body of work created by this dedicated work of individuals is impressive and a testament to their commitment to our organization and the members of Texas TSA.
However, even a virtual contest would require TSA advisors to access their classrooms/labs in order to prepare competition entries. Additionally, many students would not have access to the hardware/software or resources needed for them to compete. Under no circumstance would Texas TSA want to create a situation where students and/or advisors would be tempted to break the stay-at-home order or put themselves at risk during this Global Pandemic in order to compete in a competition that they are passionate about.
This concern for our membership combined with the announcement early last week by National TSA regarding the cancellation of the national conference has prompted the Texas TSA Board of Directors to cancel all plans for competitive events for the 19/20 school year. During the week of May 11, 2020 the Texas TSA State Officer team will conduct the 19/20 Texas TSA Business meeting, officer elections, board of directors elections, scholarship awards and 2019/20 recognition awards. If your school has already paid for the 19/20 Texas TSA State Conference, they may request a refund of payment. Refunds must be requested within 60 days of original payment date, unless there are extenuating circumstances. Texas TSA has 60 days from the receipt of the request to complete the refund request. If your school has outstanding invoices, these funds may be held until the account is clear. The refund form can be accessed on the Texas TSA webpage.
