LIFT at CAMP-of-the-WOODS

Hello from the quiet shores of Lake Pleasant,

I am writing to inform you of an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for young adults (19-26 years old) who are hungry to grow in their love for God and actively live out their faith. You may have already heard about the LIFT discipleship program at a Wednesday morning chapel service at CAMP-of-the-WOODS if you have been a summer Camp guest or perhaps you attended a weekend conference at Camp and had LIFT students wait on your dinner table. Perhaps a friend or family member has attended a semester or has mentioned it to you. It doesn't matter how you have heard about it, but what does matter is if you know a young adult who is serious about being a disciple of Christ and would be a good candidate for this program.

LIFT is a very unique experience for the next generation of Christian leaders. Students are mentored one-on-one, they memorize the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7) or an epistle, and take the equivalent of 12 credits of college classes in four subject areas: theology, spiritual formation, missions, and leadership. They live in a close community of 30 students for 3 months each semester. LIFT students engage in the local community and church and also team with ministries internationally on a two-week mission trip to either the Dominican Republic or Ecuador. They apply leadership principles weekly in a variety of outdoor excursions in the extensive Adirondack park.

CAMP-of-the-WOODS is committed to developing Christian leaders and offers this program at no cost to the students: tuition, books, adventure gear, travel expenses, room & board are all covered. Students desiring college credit may register and pay through Nyack College or Cairn University. They do need to raise support for the mission trip (~$1,000), have health insurance, and acquire (have, purchase or borrow) the necessary quality outdoor clothing and footwear, which can cost ~$500 - $850.

The winter/spring 2015 semester is filling up quickly with female students. If you can identify anyone as a strong candidate for the program, especially male students at this point, please encourage them to apply online at www.liftdiscipleship.org under the "apply" tab or simply click here. Tyler Nelson, the LIFT Associate Director, is available to address any questions concerning LIFT and whether it would be a good fit for you or someone you know. Reply to this email, visit the website, or call Tyler at (518) 548-4831.
