To Falmouth Memorial Library Community Members,
The Board of Trustees of Falmouth Memorial Library are so pleased to say that construction on the newly renovated and expanded Library was completed on time and on budget. Our plan had been to reopen the Library on May 4th, but CoVid 19 has prevented that from happening.
At this time, the date of our opening is uncertain. Several factors will play into the decision to reopen. We need to consider Governor Mill's extended stay-at-home order, access to our shelving that is now staying in place in Connecticut, and a plan for how to allow staff safely in the building to reshelve books.
There is some exciting news on the construction project. We had a very generous, anonymous donor who donated solar panels to the Library. Because of the delay in our opening, the panels can be installed without disrupting Library services. Also, now that warmer weather has arrived, the landscaping can be completed.
We are so excited to welcome you into this beautiful building when it is safe to do so.
