Dear GABC members, sponsors, partners & friends!
It's been a few months now that I have had the privilege to be at the helm of the German-American Business Council, and while any transition in leadership brings challenges, there are also many new opportunities that come with a fresh start!
I am looking forward to forging close relationships with our members and partners -- especially those I have not yet met or communicated with in person. Establishing and maintaining a meaningful and valuable high-level network among German-American businesses and professionals is at the core of what we do here at the GABC. Don't hesitate to bring forward ideas, introductions and initiatives, as this network also lives through its active membership!
This is a great time for you to
join the GABC or
renew your membership (there might be a friendly reminder sitting in your inbox) in order to take full advantage of what the GABC has to offer. Some of you may also decide to
rejoin after taking some time off; if so please
contact us first to determine your status. GABC members enjoy access to member-only events, or first dibs before popular events are opened to the general public.
The German-American relations continue to be strong and important, but the economic and political weather systems surrounding this relationship have been stormy and even chilly recently. Will the forecast bring back the calm and pleasant days from before, or will the weather stay unsettled and unpredictable for a while?
The current "climate" has been the topic of many conversations I have had over the last few months with members and guests at our events and beyond, and there is a continued demand (and desire) to exchange and be informed as the news cycle churns out more surprises on daily basis.
So, please take a look at what we have in store (and what we have covered so far). We strive to continue to bring you interesting events, high-level speakers and most of all, good networking opportunities.
We thank our new members and sponsors who have joined us recently. Look out for a
full update on membership from me soon! Have a great start into the week,
Herzlichst,
Emily Westhoven

We had a lot of fun at our annual
Oktoberfest which we celebrated with members and friends in style and with German beer & cheer at The Point, one of Boston's coolest traditional pubs who let us turn its private room into a blue and white Biergarten (well, almost).
