Lovejoy Community,

We are excited to welcome Jersey Mike's to the Lucas Area and thrilled they selected Lovejoy ISD for their community give-back campaign during their Grand Opening week!

Over the next few days and early into next week, each Lovejoy ISD student and staff member will receive one Jersey Mike's Card that is good for a FREE Regular Sub with a minimum $2.00 donation. This card is good from May 19th - May 23rd at the Lucas location only, and all donations directly benefit Lovejoy ISD!

Students and staff who are virtual are invited to stop by the LISD Administration Building M-F from 8-5 pm to pick up their Jersey Mike's card.

We hope all of our Leopards will help support Jersey Mike's and Lovejoy ISD during their Grand Opening Week - May 19th - May 23rd.
Recognitions
Lovejoy Track and Field

We had 5 Leopards compete in the State Track and Field meet on Friday, May 7th. Tate and Amy kicked it off with the 2 mile run in the morning, and the 4x4 finished off the night! It was a fun day and a great experience for our kids.
All of these students are returning next year, so it was a great opportunity for them to learn how to compete at the highest level in front of a large crowd. We are proud of the way the kids carried themselves and handled the pressure. They were calm and courageous and made our program and community very proud!

Kailey Littlefield - State Champion in the 800-meter run! Kailey set a new personal record, a new school record, and had the fastest time in the state across all classifications with a 2:08.0. Kailey also placed 6th in the mile.

Amy Morefield - 7th in the 2 mile

Tate Barr - 7th in the mile and 9th in the 2 mile

Mile Relay (Chloe Schaeffer, Bella Landrum, Amy Morefield, Kailey Littlefield) - 5th
Special thank you to Katie Dolberry for these outstanding photos and for capturing the Track and Field team.

Plans for 2021 - 2022 School Year
Plans for the 2021-2022 school year, are for Lovejoy ISD to return to normal, pre-COVID operations.

For the 2021- 2022 school year:
  • Masks will not be required, but optional for those who choose to wear
  • All instruction will be face-to-face, LISD will not offer virtual learning
  • Secondary schedules will return to a traditional 8 period day

Please note that our plans to return to normal pre-COVID operations are based on current improving health conditions.

Changes may be required if guided differently by the Texas Education Agency (TEA), Governor’s Executive Order, Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Collin County Health Department, Department of Texas Health and Human Services, or if hospitalization rates impact local guidance.
