Dear Lovejoy Community,

We are excited to share that Lovejoy ISD has been honored for the second consecutive year with the “Best Communities for Music Education” designation from The NAMM Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education.

This award recognizes the hard work by the Board of Trustees, administrators, teachers, parents, and community and their continued support in providing programs of excellence for our Lovejoy students. We appreciate the NAAM Foundation for recognizing our music program and our district's continued commitment to providing our students opportunities beyond the classroom.

Dr. Dennis Womack
Interim Superintendent
Recognitions
Lovejoy Wrestling

Congratulations to your 2021 UIL back-to-back District 9-5A Men's Wrestling Champs! We are #LovejoyProud of you!
Lovejoy Robotics

We are Lovejoy Proud of our Lovejoy High School robotics program for advancing to the High School State Championship this weekend, April 9th and 10th.

Our Willow Springs Middle School robotics team has also advanced to State and will be competing on April 17th.
Lovejoy High School Choir

The LHS Choirs were evaluated in the UIL Concert and Sight-Reading forum on March 30th and 31st. All three choirs performed at the Allen Performing Arts Center. At UIL, a choir participates in a concert portion and a sight-reading portion of the contest. Choirs are given a rating, not against other choirs, but against a rubric of standards. There are three judges for each event, and each judge gives a rating from 1 (superior) to 5 (poor). If the average of the judges is a 1 overall in concert and a 1 overall in sight-reading, students earn what is called “Sweepstakes”!

The Varsity Mixed Choir, JV Men and JV Women all earned sweepstakes for their individual programs. We are very proud of the accomplishments of our choirs this year. Congratulations.

Plans for 2021 - 2022 School Year
As we plan for the 2021-2022 school year, Lovejoy ISD will return to normal, pre-COVID operations.

For the 2021- 2022 school year:
  • Masks will not be required, but optional for those who choose to wear
  • All instruction will be face-to-face, LISD will not offer virtual learning
  • Secondary schedules will return to a traditional 8 period day

Please note that our plans to return to normal pre-COVID operations is based on current health conditions.

Changes may be required if guided differently by the Texas Education Agency (TEA), Governor’s Executive order, Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Collin County Health Department or the Department of Texas Health and Human Services hospitalization rates impact local guidance.

Town Hall Meeting
April 12th
The Lovejoy ISD Board of Trustees is hosting a Town Hall meeting on Monday, April 12th. The public portion of the meeting will start at 7:00 pm in the Lovejoy Elementary School gym. Please note that the Board will not take any action during the meeting on April 12th. Any possible action regarding a potential restructure will occur during the regularly scheduled Board meeting on April 19th.

The public meeting will begin with a presentation from the District's Leadership Team that will provide an efficiency comparison between a proposed K-2 / 3-4 grade level structure and two K-4 elementary campuses, as well as other District-wide proposed programmatic changes- including a reduction in administration. The presentation is designed to answer questions and concerns previously submitted by the community.

To see the District responses to questions submitted by our community, please visit the Budget Development website. LISD will continue to respond to submitted questions and will update the website daily. If you would like to submit a question to be included in the FAQ, please complete the form provided

After the presentation, Town Hall meeting attendees will have the opportunity to ask additional questions and may choose to publicly address the Board (maximum of 3 minutes per speaker). To ensure we provide all of our community with an opportunity to share their questions or statements, the Board of Trustees will not respond to each individual but will provide closing remarks. LISD will send a recap of the meeting, including a copy of all questions and answers, to the community on Wednesday, April 14th
One Heart. One Lovejoy. Fund
We are extremely grateful for the generosity of our community. We have received many messages from our families asking for ways they can raise funds to support the District's operations budget.

This year, we launched the One Heart. One Lovejoy. Fund designed to help bridge the funding gap as we continue to deliver excellence in Lovejoy ISD. To date, we have received $75,000 in the current year from this initiative, which directly impacts our general operating budget.

If you are interested in donating, please click on the picture below to be directed to the Foundation for Lovejoy Schools website. Once on this site, you will be able to select the One Heart. One Lovejoy Fund as a donation option.
Funds collected through the One Heart. One Lovejoy. fund will go directly to only help fund the programs and or positions that directly impact students.
