2019-2020 Parish Theme:
Live by the Spirit, Walk by the Spirit
Messages from the Middle:
Our first middle school dance of the year is coming up Saturday, December 7 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in Fr. Brisson Hall. I apologize for the conflict with the Christmas Parade in downtown Fredericksburg that night and the challenge this poses for some families. We hope that many of our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students will join us for this fun event. Mrs. Miller and I are working with our outstanding Middle School Student Council to organize this event.

We would love help from parents with chaperoning the dance and helping to supply baked goods to fuel our students for their dance. We will send out a sign up genius link early next week. Below is more info about the dance.

Middle School Christmas Semi-formal Dance Saturday, December 7
6th through 8th grade students are invited to the first middle school dance of the year on Saturday, December 7th in Fr. Brisson Hall from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Admission will be $5.00 in advance or $7.00 at the door. Tickets will be sold during lunch next week.

Attire for gentlemen: Khakis or dress pants (not jeans) with a button down shirt. Tie and jacket or sweater is optional.

Attire for ladies: Dress pants (not jeans) with blouse or sweater or skirt with a blouse or sweater are acceptable. Dresses can be no more than 2" above the knee and must have straps over the shoulder at least three inches wide.

Snacks: We will order Chick-Fil A nuggets, chips, pretzels, and other munchies for the dance along with water and soft drinks. Donations of baked goods from parents will be greatly appreciated.

Cell phones: Students may bring their cell phones to take photos in our "selfie booth" and communicate with their parents. Students are responsible for keeping up with their device throughout the evening.

Chromebook Program
The Chromebook program that was initiated this year with our 6th grade students will expand to the rest of middle school in the 2020-2021 school year. We thought it would be helpful to announce this information now in case anyone wants to take advantage of the many deals to be found on Chromebooks this weekend.
Help Our Pennant Project
I would like to invite middle school families to donate pennants from their favorite colleges or universities to Holy Cross Academy to help decorate our middle school hallway. Students can bring their pennants in to the office and we will have them displayed throughout the middle school. These pennants will help differentiate our middle school hallway and allow our students to help decorate their space.

Our students are off to a great start on their academic and faith journey during their years at Holy Cross Academy. I hope these pennants will serve as a visual reminder of what our students are working towards later in their academic journey.
