Dear Emanuel Family,
I am sad to announce the guidelines with respect to mask wearing announced last week must be rescinded just a week later.
The quotation above is the latest CDC guideline on masking for the vaccinated. The map released by CDC yesterday shows Hartford County as having substantial transmission. Therefore, as co-chair of the Task Force and President of our Synagogue, I am pointing out the task force guidelines includes language noting we will follow CDC guidelines--and follow we shall. Whether or not we are vaccinated, we shall mask. (As you know, there are exceptions for participants on the bima.)
I truly apologize if you feel a bit bounced. I know I feel that way. At least we can still gather.
